There is a range of different types of clouds, the main types include stratus, cumulus and cirrus. Carol the Cloud is a cumulus cloud, she is puffy, like cotton floating in the sky.
Carol carries a lot of tiny droplets of water and when she gets too heavy that is when it rains.
She feels sad sometimes when it rains because many children can’t go outside to play but it is very important that there is rain, otherwise all the trees and plants will have no water to survive.
When it stops raining, Carol is happy and smiling again because she can see all the children coming out to the park to play.
So next time when it rains, don’t feel sad because once the rains stop, Carol the Cloud will make way for Mr Sunshine to come through.
Next time you look up to the sky, give Carol the Cloud a wave and a smile!
